Corgi Beach Day

The Cebu Corgi Club hosts its famous beach day at Mactan Newtown Beach — one Sunday of low-riders thundering across the sand, doggy floatie races in the shallow swim area, and a 'best beach fit' contest that the humans take far too seriously. Other friendly breeds are welcome as honorary corgis, as long as they're beach-trained.

Beach passes for humans are paid per Mactan Newtown rates, but the event program itself is free. There are freshwater rinse stations, shaded rest tents, and a vet volunteer on standby. Pro tip from last year: bring double the towels you think you need, and don't bother blow-drying before the ride home — accept the sandy corgi.
